About Nylon 66

Polyamide 66

Polyamide 66 (PA66), also known as Nylon 66, is a type of synthetic polymer belonging to the nylon family. It is made from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid through a condensation polymerization process. PA66 is widely used in engineering applications due to its excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and thermal stability.

Key Properties of Nylon 66

High strength and stiffness

Provides durability and structural integrity.

Good heat resistance

Can withstand temperatures up to 260°C (500°F) for short periods.

Chemical resistance

Resistant to oils, fuels, and many chemicals.

Low friction and wear resistance

Ideal for moving parts and bearings

Good electrical insulation

Suitable for electrical and electronic components.

Moisture absorption

Can absorb water, which affects its mechanical properties.
